The Acacia Strain announce new LP ‘You Are Safe From God Here’ (new single & exclusive vinyl)

Boundary-pushing metalcore/deathcore vets The Acacia Strain have been preparing their 13th album, and they’ve now officially announced You Are Safe From God Here, due out on October 24 via Rise. It features Colin Young (Twitching Tongues, etc) and his God’s Hate bandmate (and wrestler) Brody King on on “The Machine That Bleeds,” and Sunny Faris (Blackwater Holylight) on “eucharist ii: Blood Loss.” “This record is unapologetically The Acacia Strain; take that however you want,” the band say. “It’s angry, it’s sad, it’s us. We made a record that made us feel uncomfortable. We hope it makes you feel the same way.” We have an exclusive “mattal gear solid” vinyl variant, limited to 400 copies. They’ve shared the first single, “A Call Beyond.” “We had a hard time landing on one song to release first over all the others — it gets more difficult to pick ‘one song’ every time we put out a new record,” they say. “We felt ‘A Call Beyond’ was a good introduction to this era of TAS.”

About the accompanying video, they add, “We all have about 1,000 ideas for music videos we want to use, and we basically picked this one out of a hat! Devin [Shidaker, lead guitar] came up with the idea of a game show, and Mike [Mulholland, guitar] titled it. We all had a hand in coming up with the different ‘misfortunes,’ and Matt and Eric took the reins on the rest. We are really happy to make a video featuring a bunch of our friends, and realize Matt and Devin’s artistic vision.”

The Acacia Strain recently announced a summer tour with an undercard stacked with newer bands from the current scene: Bodysnatcher, Ingrown, No Cure, and Tribal Gaze. It includes an NYC show at Irving Plaza on August 21, and you can see all dates below.
